5 golden tips to relax and enjoy your days off to the fullest!
Days off should mean rest and fun. If you want to take the opportunity to do what you like and escape from routine, this is where it can and should happen. But how to plan?
We share here five golden tips. You might be sure that your days off will never be the same again!
During a Vespa tour, on a sunny winter day, we decided it was the time. It was time to tell you how we plan our days off! It doesn’t have to be big plans or expensive activities. Just let them be as you like and, above all, enjoy them to the full!
Firstly, you should start by making a list of ideas for activities you would like to do or places you would like to visit.
Note that “the” idea can pop up anywhere; at work, on public transport or even at bedtime. So you can even use your smartphone, as it’s simpler than running for a pen and paper, and you avoid losing the idea.
If you want to plan holidays with your better half, you can create a joint list on your smartphone or share your lists and put your ideas and plans there.
Remember that sometimes, a plan doesn’t need to be huge. The focus must be to do something different. 🙂
Choose a suitable time and date
It is not advisable to go for a walk on a yellow warning stormy day or photographing snow in midsummer (maybe it was impossible here, of course!). That’s why it’s important to match your plans with the time of year and weather. Do previous research on the temperatures that will be in your days off. Accuweather can help you!
The time of year will also affect the influx of people to spaces and the prices of the activities, accommodation, etc. Avoid the peak season (usually between June and September and between December and January) and take the opportunity to save some money while doing what you have planned.
We risk saying that, in low season, some tourist places are free from crowds and sometimes they will be just for you. Is there a better way to enjoy a break?
Be a tourist in your town
Are you sure you fully know the place where you live? We almost bet that there is a monument, a garden or a restaurant that you’ve never been to! Try taking a break to walk around and explore your city or a neighbouring city/town as if it was the first time and as if you were a tourist!
Escape from your routine.
Routines are just habits that can be so deeply rooted that it’s hard to do something different. But this is what free days are for, isn’t it? We suggest you do something you’ve never done on your days off and challenge yourself! You can use a different transport or try a type of cuisine you’ve never tried, for example!
Photograph to record those moments.
It’s a habit we’ve always had to keep the good memories even more alive! Get used to taking pictures or videos as a way to create a physical record of your tours and activities. Therefore, whenever you see them, you’ll remember how special those days off you planned were and who knows, you wouldn’t want to repeat them!
We know it’s easy to talk, but… what about some ideas? If you don’t have any and you have a day off coming up, take a look at the list of ideas we share with you!
- A Vespa tour (of course!)
- Going to the beach (whether in winter or summer)
- Have a picnic
